The net profit from the IV
FESTIVAL DJs FESTIVAL CONTRA FAM 2008 will be donated
directly to 4 organizations in Barcelona that provide
services to and care for people living in a situation
or risk of poverty and problems associated with drug
dependency and AIDS.
They are centers whose objectives and common goals are
not just the physical attention and direct sanitary
assistance but also emotional support
to clients and their families. They also have special
prevention programs that are directed to young people
and for the most affected neighborhoods.

ABD will commit this financial
support to the project Casa that welcomes people affected
by HIV/AIDS. La Casa has a capacity for 8 people
and is offered as an alternative home for people with
HIV/AIDS and with problems of social exclusion who need
support to stabilize their health situation and/or their
capacity to integrate socially. Since 1993 it has guaranteed
a service of integral attention and encourages the group’s
co-existence with the client’s active participation
as much in the practical aspects of the place’s
operation as in one’s own process of personal
change.
Asociación Ciudadana Anti-Sida
de Cataluña (ACASC) will use the donation to
improve its day center “Espacio Vihtal”,
which is a space that welcomes people affected by HIV/AIDS
and offers different services: showers, food goods,
support services, management of personal treatment regimens,
and different fun and educational activities (excursions,
creative workshops, etc).
They will utilize the donation for a particular center
that has developed the program Agentes de salud
para usuarios de drogas (health agents for drug users)
that is an ample program of social sanitary attention
for drug users that sends teams to the street to connect
the using drug population. These teams help to provide
food and rest, sanitary and social attention
SAPS will use the donation for the
improvement of this space “CLUB, calor
y cafe” which is directed for some of
the most marginal clients and that offers an educative
space of relaxation and rest, nourishment, showers and
clean clothes, all to try to improve the quality of
life of the most vulnerable groups
TOTAL Economic GOAL: 21.102,72 eur
All of the money will be donated for the reformation
and structural renovations of these centers’ kitchen
and dining facilities as well as for the purchase of
kitchen appliances, household goods, etc.
