Electroputas are melting styles and behaviours to get a collage of beats and breaks, a fusion of old Spanish songs with electronic music from our days, with the support of visuals. Electroputas is a band born in the heart of Barcelona in 2004 and formed by Toni Bello (bass player and founder of many local bands as Maguillaz or La Kinky Beat) and Edu Chifoni, masterpiece of the local underground electronic scene in bands as Faltan Camareras or La Ultra Violeta Experience (L.U.V.E.).
Their live sets are based in remixing flamenco artists as Camarón de la Isla, Lola Flores or Los Chichos with musicians in the beginning so far from them as Jimmy Hendrix or Ella Figeralz. At the Electroputas’ concerts we can listen and dance to all these old songs with a rhythm of break beat, electro or drum&bass. Recently they have been remixing some themes of Cathy Claret, and have issued in xxrecords “124”, an album which includes their own compositions as well as remixes of the most popular songs ever played in the car’s tapeplayers of Barcelona’s suburbs. A new tuning style, with heavy basses, simple but accurate drums, sweet but cutting melodies, flamenco, rumba, car races to escape from the police, “toretes”, neo lights and asphalt.
